This act will affect everyone in Vermont. It bans certain materials from the landfill in phases: July 2015- Statewide Six recyclables banned (Paper, Aluminum, cardboard, steel, glass, #1 & #2 Plastics); July 2017- Transfer stations accept food scraps from residents. January 2020- All food scraps from commercial and residential sources cannot be thrown in the landfill.
